Let’s face it, there’s nothing quite cuter than a Kunekune piglet. It’s a joy to raise this breed, and care for their young. “Piglet Therapy” is most definitely a thing! Friendly and docile Kunekune piglets are easily handled for routine health checks, veterinary care and vaccinations.
We’ve also raised Meishan pigs, another breed that’s docile as an adult, and the piglets are very challenging in comparison, being very skittish until they’re around 9-12 months old. Kunekune pigs are truly special in this regard, making them the perfect pig for the small farm, homestead or niche pork producer.
